The Balpakram-Baghmara Landscape-a snapshot

Where it is located:  South Garo Hills, Meghalaya
Area: 600 sq km including 220 sq km of community owned forest
Protected Areas: Balpakram National Park, Siju WLS, Baghmara Reserved Forest
Altitudinal range: 100-1,100 m

Tourism areas:
Karwani (Baghmara Reserved Forest): Homestays.
Siju WLS: Bamboo huts, tented accommodation.
Balpakram: Tourist rest houses and Forest Rest House.

Titli Trust supports eco-tourism at Garo Hills

Titli Trust has been involved in a long term research and monitoring program at Garo Hills since 2009 and has surveyed the area's birds, butterflies, moths, amphibians and reptiles. During this research, 350 species of butteflies and more than 500 species of moths were recorded here.
